Using local, state and regional maps, make a list of all the waterways that carry water from your location to the ocean. Use the name of your city, town or school in the first line below. Use the list of waterways to fill in other blanks. This can be done by the whole class or in small groups.
When the rain falls down in _____________. All the rivers run.
Joins the ____________ and it rolls on down. All the rivers run.
Then the ________________ runs all the way. All the rivers run.
Down the ____________________________. All the rivers run.
Here is one I used many times while teaching in Trenton, New Jersey.
When the rain falls down in Trenton town. All the rivers run.
Joins the Shabakunk creek and it rolls on down. All the rivers run.
Then the Assunpink runs all the way. All the rivers run.
Down the Delaware River to the Delaware Bay. All the rivers run.
